WA Mission
Our mission is bringing redemption to culture through character transformation and intellectual development. We partner with families to equip students with a strong academic foundation, the ability to think critically, and the confidence to follow God’s calling on their lives. We believe education is a tool God uses to develop the purpose He has placed in every student. As a ministry of Westside Family Fellowship, we seek to cultivate a school community where we can glorify God in all we do.

Our curriculum is unapologetically taught from a Christian worldview, with Bible included as a subject for all grades. Additionally, we hold whole-school chapel sessions and every student is required to memorize scripture each month.
Our school is proud to offer a curriculum that exceeds the requirements set by the BC Ministry of Education. As a fully accredited Group 1 Independent School, we consistently meet and exceed their standards in regular evaluations.
Westside Academy integrates a Christian worldview with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum, providing opportunities for learning both inside and outside the classroom. This approach addresses students' deepest questions through a biblical, age-appropriate perspective, ensuring a well-rounded education that integrates academic excellence with strong moral values.
Teachers at Westside Academy are licensed to teach by the Province of British Columbia. They are dedicated Christians committed to the teaching profession and to helping students achieve academic excellence.
Our class sizes are intentionally kept small, with an average cap of 15 students per grade. Currently, our Grade 5 and 6 class is structured in a split-grade classroom. In theses cases, we aim to cap the class at 20 to 22 students to maintain a strong learning environment and ensure each student receives the attention they need.
Westside Academy students attend school in uniform, which includes a WA navy polo, khaki pants/shorts/skirts, and black/brown shoes. Additionally, students have the option to wear a WA hoodie or crew neck. We believe that uniforms contribute to a positive and cohesive atmosphere within our school community.
While we currently do not offer an early childhood education program, we are excited to welcome your Kindergarten inquiries.
Families can begin the inquiry process for Kindergarten in the year their child turns five years old. We do not maintain a waitlist, so it is recommended to inquire beginning in January for a September start in the same year.
Westside Academy is committed to offering Christ-centred education that is affordable and accessible to all families. The government funds a portion of our annual operating costs and tuition is necessary to cover the remaining costs required.
For detailed tuition rates, click here. Please note these rates do not include school supplies, uniform, hot lunches, or year-end field trips. To help cover trip costs, students have the option to order and sell chocolate bars.
While we currently do not offer a formal after-school care program, our school community is known for fostering a supportive environment where parents often collaborate to address each other's needs.
